Cyanotype

Cyanotype is a photographic process that produces rich blues when exposed to UV light. I love using Colorado sunlight to create prints that highlight the patterns and geometry of native flora.

Cyanotype-printed clothing needs special care. Do not wash with detergents or soaps containing phosphates, sodium, or bleach, as this will fade and discolor the print. My go-to is a dilution of Dr. Bronner's soap in cold water, but any castille soap will do. Handwash or machine wash on delicate, and turn the clothing inside out to protect the print. To best protect the print, avoid frequent washing. Air dry away from direct sunlight.
